As is our tradition, during the first week of Great Lent we will have services every evening. Beginning on Monday, February 19, we will serve Great Compline, with successive sections of the Great Canon of St. Andrew of Crete, at 6:30 each evening, and continuing through Thursday evening. On Wednesday evening we will first serve a Liturgy of the Pre-Sanctified Gifts.
On Friday evening, we will serve the Salutations to the Theotokos, also at 6:30 pm, followed by a Lenten meal of soup and bread. While enjoying our meal, we will hold our first discussion of our reading for Great Lent, "Father Arseny: Priest, Prisoner and Spiritual Father".
The first Sunday of Great Lent is the Sunday of Orthodoxy. We will serve Great Vespers at 5:00 pm on Saturday evening, with the Divine Liturgy pf St. Basil the Great on Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m.
